Blogging is so easy! Really?
Posted by admin on March 9th, 2009 filed in Why Blog?Sure is. Well that is if you only read the hype and don’t pay attention to all of the people who have been down that path before and are now “spreading the word” via their blogs and basher sites about how hard blogging is. You know the old saying good travels fast, bad news faster.
The point is, that blogging, like a number of other technically advanced ways to communicate, is fraught with a steep learning curve. If you are going to be adventurous and tackle your blog hosting, set up, full configuration of plugins and widgets — even with a “free” template; then you are in for an interesting experience. (”free” btw, doesn’t just mean in dollar terms — many times templates are “free” of the ability to be flexible, most of the time, proving that what you don’t know you don’t know, can really slow uou down.
And yet Word Press version 2.7.1 is the most incredibly easy administration IF (interface) they have ever released.
So where is the disconnect? Which is the truth, is it so easy, or isn’t it.
In the beginning, it can be challenging, but if you have someone to help guide you, then it can be a more rewarding experience. If you don’t have a technical guide, a strategy plan (or purpose for your blog), or can write 300 words or less and make a point — then blogging may inspire you to learn some new skills. Necessity drives us all.
If you want the truely “easy way” to blog, talk to someone who builds them for others and do a little “blog r&d” on the web for those blogs that are both attractive AND have priceless insight to share — there are many wondeful blogs and blogsites to model after. Is the process easy? Is anything worth doing well easy? Just depends.
